Sam Phippen PT, DPT -Doctor of Physical Therapy

Sam was born and raised in Durango, CO, before heading to the west coast to the University of California, Santa Barbara for his undergraduate degree. Here, he graduated with a Bachelors in Economics and Accounting and a Minor in Sports Management while playing both baseball and basketball for the university teams. After college, he played professional baseball in the White Sox organization as a pitcher for two years. Following this, Sam worked as an accountant for a couple of years where he decided that he missed sports and athletes too much and made a career change. He attended Regis University to obtain his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, during which he married his wife, Tristan, a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Sam enjoys treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions of the shoulder, spine, and knee, among others. Additionally, Sam is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. His true passion is working with athletes and getting them back to their sport and doing what they love to do. In his free time, Sam loves hiking with his dog Poppy, biking, skiing, and playing basketball.

Fun Fact: During his final year at UCSB, Sam was the only two-sport Division I athlete in the nation.
